Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Today, we went to Philadelphia to visit some of the historic sites from early America.

In the span of only 11 days, the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution were signed in Independence Hall.

The statue of Commodore John Barry, Father of the US Navy, is located in front of Independence Hall.

Christ's Church Burial Ground is the site of the burial place of Benjamin Franklin and four other signers of the Declaration of Independence.

We went on tour through the home of Betsy Ross.  She sewed the first American flag.

Lancaster, Pennsylvania

For the last three days, we have been in Lancaster, PA, which is in the heart of Amish country.  We are staying at the Old Mill Stream Campground which is among beautiful trees.

We have spent a large amount of time learning and viewing the Amish culture.  We went to the Amish Farm and House to learn more.  The following are of some pictures taken while there.

Niagara Falls

For the last two days, we have been in the Niagara Falls area.  We are actually staying in Grand Island, New York within 20 minutes of the Falls.  Today, we went across to Ontario, Canada to view the Falls.  People had told us that the view was best in Canada.  We saw the American Falls and the Canadian Falls, both of which are known as "Niagara Falls."

Today was the 5th Wedding Anniversary for Nancy and me.  Niagara Falls........what a wonderful place to be to celebrate a special day!

There is still alot of color on the trees as evidenced in some of the pictures.  It has been raining most every day.  While driving to the Niagara Falls, the sun came out and this very large rainbow appeared across the entire road.  I had to pull over and stop the motorhome to take a picture!

Cooperstown, New York

Yesterday, we drove to the Cooperstown, New York area.  When we left White River Junction, Vermont, we saw some of the most beautiful scenery of our trip in the southern part of Vermont.  We had heard that the color peaks later in southern Vermont farther away from the Canadian border.  We believe it!

Today, we went to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.  It was very interesting, especially for me who loves baseball.  The picture of Babe Ruth and Ted Williams were life-size figures made totally from a single piece of basswood.  No cloth, stone or cermanic was used.

Doubleday Field was where the first game of baseball was played.  Abner Doubleday is considered as the inventor of baseball.

I made pictures of the Hall of Fame Induction Plaques of some of my favorite baseball players.
